Yule Cat Christmas Card, Set of 3 Cards with Envelopes
Each year I create a new Creepy Christmas Card design, and this year we pay homage to Jólakötturinn, the Yule Cat of Iceland. In this set you receive 3 Yule Cat cards, with envelopes. Each card is decorated with an original art reproduction on the cover, on the inside cover is a traditional bit of verse in the language of origin with a translation, and a bit about the Yule Cat on the back of the card. There is even a greeting of “Merry Yule” on the inside.
The original art for this card was created on a map of Iceland, the Yule Cat is curling its paw around Iceland. I drew the cat with color pencils, and added variegated metal foil to the stars, piping on gold acrylic paint to the swirls and star outlines. The black lines were created using henna paste. The reproductions on the cards turned out so pretty! I think they’re even suitable for framing!
