Krampus Christmas Cards - Set of 3 Cards with Envelopes
What’s more festive than a demon in lederhosen? This card depicts Krampus skipping over a map of Germany and Austria, with his birch switches in his fist and a naughty child in his basket! There is a traditional verse about him on the inside cover, with the translation below it, and a bit about Krampus on the back of the card.
In the Christmas traditions of Germany and Austria, Krampus is the companion of St Nicolas. He takes charge of the naughty children while Santa rewards the good children. I created the original art for this card using color pencils and henna paste on a map of Germany and Austria. It was the second Christmas card I created, and it commemorates the time St Nicolas and Krampus came to my Kindergarten class when we lived in Germany. Fun memories!
